Their goals

  • Renew our entire information system by providing us with a second computer room

  • Improve the security of our data significantly

  • Set up a single Wi-Fi network capable of fully covering our two buildings

Grosbush

The challenge

  • Started from scratch to better redesign the IT infrastructure

  • Digitalise processes and limit document printing as much as possible

  • Equip order pickers'pallet trucks with tablets connected to ERP system

Grosbusch started from scratch to better redesign the IT infrastructure and renewed all components - servers, storage, backup, switches and Wi-Fi network. And this within very tight deadlines because the new IT environment was to be ready for the celebration of the hundredth anniversary of the company last June.

Its intention was to digitalise processes and limit document printing as much as possible", says Aurélien Infantino. The 800 daily orders meantn as many paper preparation vouchers. The implementation of our new Wi-Fi network allowed us to equip our order pickers’ pallet trucks with tablets connected to our ERP system, so that they could receive the vouchers in digital form.

The results

Having a single technical point of contact throughout the implementation period – and a single level of responsibility – for issues related to the entire new infrastructure, has been a big advantage. Telindus’ service offering covers all needs including training. Thus, after a series of courses provided by Telindus, Grosbusch is now able to create and manage the virtual machines autonomously. In addition, Telindus’ support teams are operational 24h/7d, a service level that Grosbusch could not previously benefit from.
The fact that Telindus is a technological partner that has the power to intervene at local but also European level weighed on this decision as well. Grosbusch is actually developing its exports to other European countries as well as a development outside Europe. Telindus’ ability to support Grosbusch in the international development is a guarantee of serenity and a source of confidence in the future.

Innovation, a deeply rooted value

The acceleration of the development of Grosbusch’s activities has resulted in the need to equip the company with new surfaces and a modern and efficient information system. The investments made represent a total amount of almost 20 million euros for the construction and equipment of a new building and the modernisation of the existing depot.

"Today, all of the company’s activities are gathered under the same roof: the historical activity of import-export of fruits and vegetables, but also the services developed more recently, such as the cutting of fresh fruits and vegetables for large-scale distribution and catering, the pre-packaging of tailor-made products for supermarkets, and the service Fruit@Office that allows businesses to enjoy a selection of fresh fruit delivered directly to the workplace", explains Goy Grosbusch, Chief Operating Officer of the company and who, together with his sister Lynn, represents the 4th generation of leaders at the helm of the family business.

The expansion of the site has enabled innovative initiatives to emerge. "An auditorium and culinary workshop now host the Grosbusch Academy where we receive our customers to train them in fruits and vegetables", says Goy Grosbusch. "We organise specialised sessions for Horeca professionals, chefs, supermarket managers, but also for children through Grosbusch Kids, a training allowing young people to learn with fun where the products come from, how they are grown and how to eat healthily".

"Our job is close to nature, so we want it reflected in our equipment", emphasizes the Operations Manager. The company has set up photovoltaic panels to cover part of its needs in electricity and recovers rainwater to supply sinks and toilets. The company’s fleet is renewed as often as possible and the drivers are trained in eco-friendly driving to limit pollutant emissions. "These concerns are also reflected in the way we have designed our new IT infrastructure ", adds Goy Grosbusch.
